Citizens for Clean Water (C4CW) is a 501(c)3 non profit organization that started out as a crew of local surfers who set out to make a difference in their own home town, Stuart, FL. Their movement began in the summer of 2013 when they started a protest to discontinue the fresh polluted discharges from Lake Okeechobee into their salt water estuary. The protest united tens and thousands of people to stand up and have their voices heard to show love for their environment. After having many successful rallies, protests, gatherings, and promotions to help other local nonprofits who have been fighting the fight for years, the tides finally began to turn. The polluted waters that we enjoy in so many different ways would no longer be ignored… C4CW was born.
